New Patient Intake Process
Consultations include informal screening of your child's communication skills and discussion of your concerns for your child's development. An appropriate evaluation plan will be determined at the end of the consultation.
Depending on your child's needs, evaluation may consist of any of the following: standardized assessment of your child's skills over one or more sessions; informal observations of your child in the office setting and/or other environments; and consultation with/review of relevant assessments from your child's other service providers (if applicable). Results of the evaluation process are summarized in a written report and are reviewed with parents at a follow-up appointment.
An individualized treatment plan outlining measurable goals is determined based on evaluation results and parent concerns. All treatment plans include education and/or involvement of parents and primary caregivers. Therapy can be delivered in one or more 45-minute sessions per week.
In addition to therapy, we are available for parent conferences, school meetings, classroom observations, and training of caregivers/tutors. It takes a village to raise a child...it takes a team to help that child succeed!
